Harvard Square

This beautiful home located in Cambridge, MA, went through a meticulous and painstaking renovation completed in 2022. The generously proportioned yard was in need of some attention particularly due to the stress of the severe heat and drought we endured that summer.

My clients are fond of all things evergreen for winter interest as well as plenty of lawn for kids to play on. The original large yard was bisected by a patio area which somewhat hampered the flow of lush grass.

We relocated the patio to the rear of the property with easy access from their kitchen. In addition, a pergola was built with amazing precision to maintain a magnificent, mature Fringe tree.  The tree envelopes the structure and creates a sense of coziness while dining al fresco.

The new large lawn area was regraded, irrigated, and sod. Hard scape included some border defining with cobblestone and a brick walk was installed to complement a herringbone brick drive on the property.

For the perennial beds a pallet of plum tones, soft pink, salmon, and cream predominate. Several Nantucket Blue Hydrangea punctuate the blend to complement the yellow of the house.

Plans for potential a herb garden, cutting garden, and the addition of mixed Jonquil bulbs lining new newly painted deep green fence are in the works.
